WHAT TO BRING; PROGRAMME; Etc:

Bring some lunch; a pen to write with and any notes you have compiled regarding what you want to get from the day – once you are booked in to the Workshop I’ll be sending you a formatted worksheet so that you can begin the process of getting your ideas/dreams/aspirations down on paper!

The Workshop Programme will be based on Living Architecture principles which in essence articulate the idea that consciously made affordable natural buildings can facilitate personal empowerment and the living of life in a wholistic and sensitive manner. You can browse many ARTICLES I have written on this subject to get a broader notion of this concept before attending the workshop.

The programme will be delivered in 6 segments, covering all relevant aspects of the design and construction processes. A detailed Handout will be provided. The overall emphasis will be on practicality, affordability, on supporting creativity and on personal empowerment.

1. STARTING OFF

Getting ideas down on paper; setting a budget; declaring environmental ‘bottom line’;

2. THE ELEMENTS

Earth; Air; Fire; Water; Space
What these are and how to make their qualities part of a building.

3. PLANNING & BUILDING REGS

Managing the regs.

4. DESIGN

Creating a plan and a model.

5. COSTING

Calculating costs.

6. CONSTRUCTION

Getting your design built
