‘EconoSpace’ is an abbreviation of the words ‘economical space’.
EconoSpaceMaking describes the process of learning how to design and construct affordable eco-buildings suited to sustainable living – Tiny Houses, really. This process is based on the notion of a ‘living’ architecture – the idea that buildings are a reflection of our selves.
When we bring this realisation to the design+construction process it facilitates us getting in touch with what might best be described as ‘the dream of our life’ – in other words, who we are, where we are going and how we plan on getting there! This potential of architecture to help us realise the dream of our life is generally overlooked because ‘property’ has become so serious, being the cornerstone of the prevailing economic system.
Based on a simple and proven timber framing system utilising the unique ‘peter-post’ EconoSpaceMaking is something even the most construction-shy person can confidently tackle into.
The EconoSpaceMaking Course teaches you how to design and build a small, green, low-impact sustainable shelter, configured to suit your particular wants and needs, on a shoestring budget in the average backyard without planning permission or a building permit – empowering you to explore the exciting world of who you are and what your life is all about!
This is the easiest and most fun way of engaging with what are, in fact, the mysteries of life. How so? Because buildings are mostly made of space which is the stuff of the Universe! When we hive off a portion of this space (or properly-speaking this ‘spacetime’) it allows us to manage our connection to what in reality is a ‘scaled down’ Universe.
When we explore our connection to the Universe we discover that who we are emerges from this! Designing an ‘enclosure’ to protect you as you engage with this Universal SpaceTime is the essence of living architecture.
And to think that you can do this in your own back garden!
